The Kamili farmers are at the heart of who we are. Their dedication to the craft and their pride in tending to the world’s finest plantations are what makes our loose leaf teas taste so good. Morning after morning, they rise at the crack of dawn to attend to the needs of their treasured green gold. Time, energy, and resources are dedicated into cultivating these tea plantations.
With a never-say-die attitude, they pour their heart and soul into the process — from planting and picking; to sending them to wilt, dry, and roll in a family-owned tea cottage factory… all in a bid to compete with their peers on the global stage.

Our Founder’s Story
Kamili Tea Story: Minesh’s Family history with tea farmers dates back to the early 90’s.
Like Rome, Kamili wasn’t built in a day. In fact, it’s steeped in family tradition dating back to the early 90’s. Kamili was founded by Minesh Hirani, whose father built the Nandi tea community from the ground up. Minesh’s father dedicated his construction career to Nandi’s growing tea culture by building low-cost homes for their communities.
The bright white houses have been providing shelter, comfort, and delight to our tea farmers and their families for more than two decades. What started out as a housing project evolved into creating job opportunities by leveraging their expertise. We have created a familial relationship, and we hope that this sense of community reverberates with every warm cup of tea you share with your loved ones.
